The power of community
As artists, we spend a lot of time alone. When we are creating, we are usually tucked away somewhere in our house. We have taken over full rooms and confiscated kitchen tables as our workspace. And although we may have people mulling around us in our space, when we are working, we generally are doing this as a solo adventure. As artists, this is our happy place. But we still need connections. We need connections with people who can understand what it’s like to spend 5 hours on a painting only to throw it in the trash. We need connections with people that can also understand those breakthrough moments when we create something that we are proud of. This is why at Two Bridges we feel the power of community is so important. We all need to feel a part of something bigger than ourselves. And we are so fortunate to have an amazing group of artists who support each other. It can be during class with a helpful suggestion or giving someone a ride to an event. Whatever it is, our community of artist understand what it means to truly be part of a community, and have built lasting friendships through their shared connection of art. It’s really quite special, and we are thankful to each and every member of the Two Bridges community for making our vision a reality.
