Frequently asked questions

How can you teach art online?

At Two Bridges, we have perfected the online experience. You will feel like you are in an actual classroom. Students share their work, we have discussions, and the instructors have multiple cameras set up to enable you to see what they are doing and also see them. We think there is more attention given to the students in our environment than in many in person classes we have experiences. See our student’s talk about the experience on our homepage.

I’m not tech savvy so I’m reluctant to join an online class.

We get it. Many of our students would say the same thing. But at Two Bridges we have made the online experience easy. Our instructors will send you a link that you will use for all 8 weeks of class, and all you need to do is click on the link. We also send out test links prior to class so you can go in and feel comfortable with the experience. And of course we are always available to help troubleshoot any issues. Creating an easy and seamless experience for our students is a top priority for us.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of students per class?

Yes. In order to hold a class, we need a minimum of 5 students. We also cap each class at 15 in order to ensure the best experience for everyone. If you have registered and there are not enough students to hold a class, we will notify you a week prior to the session start date.

Are classes recorded?

Two Bridges classes will run live every week and will not be recorded. A follow up email will be sent after each class giving a brief overview of what was covered and an explanation of the homework. Scott and Lisa are always available to answer any questions.

What if I start a class but then can’t finish due to my schedule? Can I get a refund?

We know life changes, but we cannot give refunds 7 days prior to any class or after a class has begun. However, we will work with you to see if transferring to another class is an option.

Do you have a physical location?

Two Bridges Art Academy is 100% virtual. That said, we will be holding in person workshops in the future. Stay tuned for details.

What supplies will I need for each class?

Please check out our "suggested supply" list page.   For the best learning experience, we encourage the use of good paper and mediums and encourage everyone to follow the supply list as closely as possible. If you have any existing supplies and you have a question regarding their quality, please reach out to us.  Our goal is always to keep cost at a minimum.

How much work is required outside of class?

Beyond the 24 hours of total class time, each student is given a homework assignment at the end of each class. It’s always your choice to complete it or not. We believe strongly in learning cycles. The more time you spend drawing and painting the more you will learn, and your results will prove this. Our instructors are available in between sessions to answer any questions you might have.

Can you explain your price structure?

Each class that we run provides a total of 24 hours of instruction over eight weeks and costs $220. As a small business we have the ability to keep our overhead costs low while providing a more personalized experience in our classes. We believe our value proposition is stronger than any other online experience available.
