Acrylic & Gouache Painting

Both acrylics and gouache are versatile mediums that can produce amazing and quick results if you know a few secrets. This class will provide you with a great foundation so that you can feel confident in your ability and hopefully leave you wanting more! It’s not mandatory, but it is useful if you already have some three-dimensional drawing skills, or you have taken our Drawing Fundamentals class before you start to paint. A good drawing is key to a good painting. During this class we will focus on the foundational elements of using these mediums. We will deep dive into different materials, review how to render a good composition and discuss how to plan out a painting for best results. We will experiment with different applications of the paint, brush strokes, and texture. Color, light, and values will be discussed as we render still life and landscapes,

When this class concludes, you will have a solid understanding of how to utilize these mediums to create frameable pieces. This class is also a great class to take before you jump into using oil-based paints.
